The following Surah contains the story of Maryam and her son Al-Asr:
All praise be to God, the most beneficent,
the most merciful, the best of those who show mercy
To God be praise in the highest, and peace.
(Qur'an 10:2-3)
The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:
"If there is any good in someone among the people of the book, there is also good in someone who prays to God" (Muslim)
The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:
"The prayer of the people of the Book is better than the prayer of the people who are not of the Book".
(Narrated by An-Nasa'i in al-Sunan al-Kubraa)
According to the opinions of the scholars, it was narrated by An-Nasa'i, who said that, al-Zuhri said: The people of the Book refer to the descendants of Yasser, Hamza, Az-Zubayr, Said and Marwan. The people who do not belong to the Book refers to the descendants of Musa, Harun, Khadija, Abu Bakr and Umar.
"O God, by the virtues of Abraham, the faithful in following his prophethood (nisa') and the truthful in his speech and in his promise, may You bestow mercy upon the women of Al-Aalameen (Maryam) from their son Zayd, and the women of the believers from their daughter Fatimah. You have favoured them with Your compassion and Your mercy, as You favoured the believers by bestowing mercy upon the progeny of Adam, upon the progeny of Hawwa and upon the progeny of Fatimah. We ask You to bestow Your mercy upon the progeny of Maryam and the progeny of her son, 'al-Asr'. Have mercy upon them. And grant them Your salutation, for You are the Holy Prophet, the Omniscient, the Kind. You have bestowed Your mercy upon them, and we ask You to bestow it upon us, and the progeny of the believers from their son, 'al-Asr', and all the progeny of Al-Aalameen (Maryam) from their sons 'al-Masih' (Jesus
